Coaches Day: Tornadoes Technical Adviser charges colleagues on professional conduct

The Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna, Niger State, Coach Abubakar Bala Mohammed has tasked coaches in the state on the need to be professional in their conduct.
Coach Abubakar Bala gave the charge at the maiden edition of coaches day celebration, organized by Chanchaga Football Coaches Association, held at the U.K Bello, Minna, Monday.
He said what coaches should do as far as football development was concern, there should be professionalism in it, adding that by so doing they will add value to the coaches association.
He urged members of the association to endeavour to attend meetings of the association and pay all dues.
He also observed that coaches were critical stakeholders in football development, urging the Chanchaga Football Council and the State Football Association to support the coaches association and put them into consideration in whatever decision they were making.
Coach Bala who expressed happiness seeing some of the coaches who discovered him during his playing days present at the occasion, further observed that the glamour in football in the state was down as he urged all stakeholders to work towards bringing back the good old memorable moments of football in the state.
He said the coaches association was ever ready to welcome any individual and organizations willing to partner with them and assist them to develope.
He also commended Chanchaga football council for organising series of competition aimed at developing football in the local government and the state by extension, saying they were doing well.
Coach Abubakar Bala also appreciated the support he had enjoyed from members of the coaches association since his emergence as the Technical Adviser of the state darling team.
In his remarks the vice Chairman of the state Coaches Association, Comrade Mohammed Sadeeq Etsu called on those who have benefitted from the round leather game to give back to the system in the interest and for the love of the game.
He said the leader of football in the state, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh was doing his best but added that Fresh cannot be everywhere as he urged all those who are well to do to support the development of football in the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the caretaker committee of Chanchaga Football Coaches Association, Coach Ibrahim Mohammed Munch disclosed that they decided to initiate the coaches day celebration to bring all members together to fraternisr and unwind together.
He observed that due to the stressful nature of the coaching profession there was need to fine time to release some of the stress out, hence the reason behind the organising of the event.
Coach Ibrahim Munch added that the event will further bring unity among members of the association, and that they will discuss with the leadership of the association to sustain the programme and make it part of the calendar of the coaches association.
Other speakers at the event includes the representatives of the state referees council, professional footballers association, members of the association and other critical stakeholders of the game in the state, and they all made valuable contributions on how to improve development of football in the state.

Governor Ododo applauds Nigeria’s’ Win Over South Africa

***Urges Super Eagles To Go For Gold

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has applauded the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their Wednesday night triumph over Bafana Bafana of South Africa and qualification for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ododo who gave the applaud in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah on Thursday in Lokoja commended the Super Eagles for their display of resilience and the “Can-do Spirit” of Nigerians.
He said that the Eagles in the thrilling semi final encounter held their nerves throughout the game and the emotionally charged penalty shootout won by the Super Eagles 4:2.
The Governor noted that the build up to the game demonstrated the undiluted passion by which Nigerians are known to rally in defence of their country in difficult times.
Ododo equally urged all Nigerians to continue to support the Super Eagles to soar in their quest to bring home the coveted continental trophy.
“This win by the Super Eagles proves that Nigeria has what it takes to bounce back from its temporary setbacks as a nation.
“We are inspired as a country and we must all support the Super Eagles to bring home the trophy as they go against the Ivory Coast in the Final this weekend”, Governor Ododo said.
The Governor also urged all Nigerians to pray fervently for the Super Eagles to clinch the Nations Cup adding that the team needed the support of all Nigerians to bring home the trophy. (Ends)
